US Household Income Continues to Fall

Continuing its slide since the onset of the great recession in
December 2007, the U.S. median household income fell by 1.3% from
$51,144 to $50,502 between 2010 and 2011, according to data from the
U.S. Census Bureau's 2011 edition of the <a
href="http://glclk.about.com/?zi=15/HUk1&zu=http%3A%2F%2Fusgovinfo.about.com%2Fod%2Fcensusandstatistics%2Fa%2Fnewcensus.htm%3Fnl%3D1">American
Communities Survey</a>.

Spent Nuclear Fuel a Growing Concern, GAO Reports

Since the proposed Yucca Mountain National Nuclear Waste Repository in
Nevada <a href="http://glclk.about.com/?zi=15/HUk7&zu=http%3A%2F%2Fusgovinfo.about.com%2Fb%2F2009%2F02%2F28%2Fobama-begins-the-end-of-yucca-mountain.htm%3Fnl%3D1">became
a memory in 2009</a>, America's commercial nuclear reactors have
accumulated nearly 70,000 metric tons of radioactive nuclear waste.
Sooner-than-later, the lack of a place to dispose of it will become a
real problem, says the <a

Accountability Office</a>.

Fake Drivers Licenses Still a Threat, GAO Finds

Despite progress by the 50 states in preventing other types of
identity fraud, criminals -- or terrorists -- are still able to obtain
fake drivers licenses or official IDs under multiple names in multiple
states, according to the Government Accountability Office.
