In the Draft, the Astros selected shortstop Carlos Correa with the No. 1 overall pick, making him the first Puerto Rican high school player ever taken with the top selection. On the field, the White Sox are one of the hottest teams in baseball and have vaulted to the top of the AL Central, while Texas has used one of the league's top batting orders to maintain its hold on the West division. The race in the AL East has tightened in recent weeks, and all five teams in the division are at .500 or better and within five games of first place. Washington, backed by phenoms Stephen Strasburg and Bryce Harper, has maintained a slight lead in the NL West and will test itself against Boston, Toronto and the Yankees during Interleague Play. The Mets got their first-ever no-hitter from Johan Santana, leaving San Diego as the only big-league team without one. Cincinnati has taken control of a turbulent NL Central division, and the Dodgers remain kings of the NL West despite a spate of injuries.
