CLEARING SKIES SATURDAY NIGHT MAY USHER IN THE FIRST FREEZING
TEMPERATURES OF THE SEASON IN EAST ANCHORAGE ANDCOLDER AREAS OF THE
MAT-SU VALLEY SATURDAY NIGHT. THE BIGUNCERTAINTIES AT THIS TIME IS
WHETHER THE CLOUDS WILL CLEAR ENOUGH AND WHETHER THERE WILL BE ENOUGH
LIGHT NORTH WIND TO KEEP THE ATMOSPHERE BETTER MIXED AND THEREFORE THE
SURFACE TEMPERATURE WARMER. MOST OF THE ANCHORAGE BOWL AND MAT-SU
VALLEY WILL REMAIN ABOVE FREEZING, HOWEVER THE AREAS THAT ARE NORMALLY
COLDER SUCH AS EAST ANCHORAGE HAVE A GOOD CHANCE OF REACHING THE
FREEZING POINT. BE SURE TO TAKEPRECAUTIONS TO TEND TO FROST SENSITIVE
PLANTS AND ANYTHING ELSE THAT MAY BE ADVERSELY AFFECTED BY FREEZING
TEMPERATURES.
